09/26/01 Dianne K. Seaford, NY	I was very impressed with Dr. Vohra. I attended an "educational" conducted by a nurse from his staff. She was very well informed and explained the entire procedure and aftercare. I also attended a support group. I was surprised to see the ENTIRE staff at the group meeting: dietician, physician's assistant, Dr. Vohra himself, his nurse and his office assistant. I then had the consultation visit with Dr. Vohra at his office. Again, it was mandatory that I meet with ALL of his staff one by one during this appointment. I am presently in the process of having the numerous tests required by Dr. Vohra. The scheduling of the appointments is a bit tedious, especially if you work. It is difficult to get appointments early in the morning or late in the evening. But most of the doctors recommended by Dr. Vohra to perform the tests, were "courteous" to Dr. Vohra's patients and scheduled the appointments in a timely manner. I think it would be so much more helpful if they could just check you into a hospital and perform ALL the necessary tests at one time. Or, since hospital room cost is a factor, have a section of these doctors all at one site. Dr. Vohra has a structured aftercare program. As I am still pre-op, I am not too familiar with the program. I do know that you MUST meet with the dietician and you MUST have an exercise plan.
08/05/01 Lee D. Freeport, NY	What a gentle, soft spoken man!! I was very impressed with him, he spent time explaining things too me & made sure I didn't leave until my questions were answered.His PA Gabe was just as wonderful....I have a GREAT feeling!!
07/09/01 Jayne H. Oceanside, NY	Dr Vohra is a wonderful man. More than that, the staff put me completely at ease. I can't say enough about them. Aftercare and more important: BEFORE CARE is in place & running smoothly thanks to the efforts of a great back up staff. Even Dr Vohra himself stressed the importance of the staff. And any pre ops from NY, please email me to find out more about this most excellent Dr and staff **********************DR Vohra is the head of lap surgery at South Nassau Hospitol. This obesity surgery is a new project there and Dr Vohra and his staff seem up for the challenge! I found out about Dr Vohra through a friend and I am well into the process that we all must go through to change our lives. South Nassau Hospitol is committed to this project. There is a part of the hospital dedicated to the surgery. Big gowns, chairs without sides in every office they have sent me to. Big wheelchairs and everything! Special kudos to Mary Kramer, R.N. for her fabulous support and her "can do" attitude! Now Dr Vohra has done about 15 surgeries and was recently trained by Dr Wittgrove, the surgeon who did Carnie's operation. He is extremely thorough and caring. Aftercare is in place and running already. Some surgeons in the area have done way more surgeries and have no support in place. Dr Vohra respects my time by being punctual for my appointments and having a staff that is available for me by simply picking up the phone.

They kept me well informed of every step that I was going to take and the surgery went wonderful. I would & will recommend Dr. Vohra to anyone who asks. They were a friendly and warm group of people. Erin M. Long Island, NY	Dr. Vohra is the best. I think he is a wonderful man and an excellent physician. I trusted my life with him 200%. I'd recommend him to anyone interested in bariatric surgery!!! Dr. Nishimura, Amy, Gabe, Allison, Jill, Danielle, Dr. Huang, Maryanne, and Joanie are the best, also. The entire staff is great, too many names to list! I'm so thankful to the entire staff, especially Amy and Maryanne because they have been there for me since my Mom passed away recently. I know I am always in excellent hands with Dr. Vohra, Dr. Nishimura, and also Dr. Huang. All three doctors are so compassionate and caring. I feel the most comfortable speaking with Dr. Nish, especially when I was in the hospital a few months ago. !

His partner, Dr. Nishimura, is great too (even though he's late a lot). The staff at the office is wonderful, even when overwhelmed. And the staff at the hospital was even more wonderful!!!

Dr. Vohra was extremely thorough in explaining all the various options to help me make a decision between the lapband and the sleeve. He really cared and too the time to answer all the questions I had. He has a full comprehensive pre and post program to keep me on track after the surgery. I had two friends who he did surgery on and they are both extremely happy with the results.
Nonstamped G. Selden, NY	My first impression of Dr. Vohra was good. He was warm, friendly, patient, and concerned. His staff, Gail and Jill are great. They were thorough and positively upbeat. Future patients should have no concerns. Dr. Vohra is very competent in his area of speciality regarding laproscopic surgery. He did hesitate to explain to me his decision of why he entered this particular area of medicine. He was skilled in laproscopic procedures of the stomach, gall bladder, liver, etc well before bariatric surgery was the norm. For the lay person who isn't familiar, surgeons who practice laproscopic surgeries as practicing ADVANCED methods of surgery. This is a bonus for the patient. Less scarring, less infection, faster recovery, better results. He emphasizes aftercare a great deal.... [Click here for more] Signing up with Dr. Vohra I realize I will have a long relationship with him well after the surgery and that is important, aftercare. He thoroughly answered all of the "tough" and "difficult" questions regarding risk. I was at ease. I would rate him at a 8 or 9, not a 10 yet because I have not had my surgery!! Overall in my opinion surgical competence is vary better than beside manner. You want a doctor (surgeon) who knows what their doing. Visit Dr. Vohra's website or google him. You won't be disappointed. Glad I waited and made an educated and firm decision regarding MY health.
